Paul Simon - Killer Wants to Go to College II Lyrics

Lyrics Killer Wants to Go to College II - Paul Simon

I know you′re trying to protect me
Searching for another truth
With your language and your poetry
From my ignorance and youth
Hey, I did not come to argue
My life never made much sense
I just wish that I could hug you
You're my only defense
I don′t understand you're writing
I could barely sign my name
All I ever learned was fighting
But I'm not the only one to blame
The streets were dark with danger
I had to stand up for my friends
In a land where I′m a stranger
And the hatred never ends
Killer wants to go on TV
What would you say to the parent today?
How old are you now?
I′m 32 years old
32 years old now
They would have a 32 year old boy
But they don't have a 32 year old boy
How do you deal with a situation like that?
That′s a very difficult question to answer
It depends on the parents
How will the parents deal with me
If they dealt with me in a forgiven manner (yeah)
I will return, deal with them humanely
And I will always try to deal with them humanely
Even if they did not have this forgiven attitude
So, you really have no answer for that
