Reily Ilo - Florida, Punxsutawney Lyrics

Lyrics Florida, Punxsutawney - Reily Ilo

Twice upon a life a boy thought he could rhyme
Packed it all up and left it all behind
Fond of a world beyond the marginal line
Said it's a cardinal sin about this hobby of mine
I must be outta my mind jumped and bumped my head
I'd get outta this bind with a lump sum bread
As a child never dwelled about what someone said
Til I got a bit older innocence just fled
And that was like a week ago
Envelope on my bed said to read the note
Anyways I'll be back fast forward a couple years
Met George when I was a sophomore on the bleachers
Clipse had us boppin' and tappin' sneakers
AIM had us baggin' up mamacitas
Time flew by caught the itis of the seniors
Ready for graduation
But lacked in the maturation department
They was talkin' STEM majors
Where the art went
Where my heart went
SAT's or not I kept my pencil sharpened
Number 2 on any and everybody that marked him
Lunch room battlin' one-two mic check come through
Saddle up gather in
It was Fight Club rules ain't no tattlin'
Got a farm of rhymes you could fuckin' raise a cattle in
They gave me props on my crops
Took a shot at producin' once Fruity Loops dropped
Music dreams came to a haltin' stop
Air quotes I needed college to get a real job
Man that hit real hard
Life through me for a loop started to get lost
Started college in the fall had no passion at all
Had me scratchin' my head did I miss my call
Did I miss my shot? Back then I used to ball
Ten o'clock lights shut off over at Winston Park
Some friends disappeared in the dark
Some of 'em still appear in my thoughts
Those I never saw again
Hope all is well keep pace with marchin' band
A semester of that then surgery on my back
That's a whole 'nother story double time through that
I got a second wind I was on full attack
Caught up with George started recordin' my raps
On Garageband I thought I was on then
Been a couple years since I last saw him
Told me bout a group that he took part in
West Egg was the name it was Robert
I mean Gatsby James and BennyFly then
Asked me to join fuck it I was all in
As time went on Rob went Hans Solo
Me and James joined the Children's Crusade
Relivin' 'em days like Benny Flocka photos
But as of late I've been turnin' page
In a maze in a haze I've been dazed and confused
Full of rage in a cage I've been wastin' my youth
I'm just chasing my truth it's been loose on the run
Escapin' me through
Car crash had me change up the route
Took a plane to the roots of it all
Now I'm out in DR
Know that I'm searchin' for somethin'
And it can't be too far
Now I'm back to this letter from the start and it read
Dear Reily by now you've made it far
On the road to riches like the great KGR
Always knew you'd become a big rapstar
But always ask yourself are you writin' from the heart
Keep your feet planted well in the soil
Cus fancy engines run on oil
And if it floods keep it below shoulders
Best regards your friend Loma
Folks had me believin' I'm cursed
But the glass half full I'm no longer dyin' of thirst
All of the pain and the hurt felt like I died and re-birthed
Put it in drive and reverse 'til we up out of the dirt
Psh pshh cowards tried to kill my inner child
They don't dream so they tryna shoot mine down
It's all good right now we healin' up
Now I'm likin' the cards they dealin' us
Layin' ground to places I've never been
We just reached where the sidewalk ends
Goodnight to all my family and friends
And right now's where the story begins
