It's been a while since I sat down and talked with myself
The pen and paper it usually helps
About time that I share this information
It's somethin' special about our conversations
You always give the invitation
To keep it real minus the hesitation
So it's a chance that I'm taking
And I'll be honest I've been deliberating
So I kinda had this revelation
That I took into consideration
I've been searching all this time for freedom
For me to reach it liberation comes through reconciliation
So I sat their meditating
Repeating it just to make sure I understood what I was saying
What I was facing
Reality checks of looking at myself in the making

Check one so I think I fell in love right
But it was the unrequited love type
It was wild for me
I was out here writing love letters love songs and a lot of poetry
Hoping we could make things real from fantasy
But you know life never sticks to the plan that we
Set up for ourselves what a shame
I took a drive down memory lane
When I came across this picture the other day
Of a love that never was had me feeling some type of way
Road trippin' slow sipping
It's funny how I tell myself I'm good and I don't miss it
I got jokes 'cause I ain't over you yet
So I wrote a lot to finally get it off of my chest

This time I wanted to do something a little bit different
And make a poetry album
It's my first time going at it
