We used to reflect like the ice on the steps
At the right angle I could see myself in you
But the sun
Glared back most days
Until it hurt to stare

And we both dried up
And cracked
Like the concrete
Scarred from the frost

But it never got cold enough
To keep us in one place

Wie der Beton
Vernarbt vom Frost

Aber es wurde nie kalt genug
Um uns an einem Ort zu halten
