And track 12 on here is called Renegades and to me
This is just kinda the quintessential, good girl falls for the bad boys, song (totally, yeah)

Uh, so tell me about the inspiration
I-I don't know that it's necessarily your story (mm-hm) so where did this come from?

This is uh, one of the few songs that I wrote out in Malibu with a bunch of L.A. writers
Who, when you get into a room like that
You never know if you're going to write something for Wiz Khalifa
Or you're gonna write a traditional country song
You just never know what you're gonna write (right)

And we were in there and my buddy John Ryan
Uh, who's a fantastic songwriter was just playing these, like, big loud power chord
Like, Tom Petty chords, if you will
And we just started, like, you know
Singing that like super singalong choruses in the song and
The line that I love the most is uhm, "Small town cliche bit like you and me"

And so like you're telling the story of these two young lovers who
The dad hates the guy; cliche story, but really you're talking about yourselves
Uh, you're older now, but you get to look at your kids and be like
"I really don't want you to go, but you should go" uh, kinda thing (yeah)

In an age of love that just like kinda renegade, reckless, wild being young love story
Uh. that-that, just feels like a stadium rock song if you will

Ist das einfach der Inbegriff, das gute Mädchen verliebt sich in den bösen Jungen, Song (absolut, ja)

Äh, erzähl mir etwas über die Inspiration
Ich weiß nicht, ob es unbedingt deine Geschichte ist (mm-hm), also woher kam das?

Das ist äh, einer der wenigen Songs, die ich draußen in Malibu mit ein paar Autoren aus L.A. geschrieben habe
Und wenn man in so einen Raum kommt
Weiß man nie, ob man etwas für Wiz Khalifa schreibt
Oder ob man einen traditionellen Country-Song schreibt
Man weiß einfach nie, was man schreiben wird (richtig)

Und wir waren dort und mein Kumpel John Ryan
Äh, der ein fantastischer Songwriter ist, spielte einfach diese, lauten Powerchords
Wie Tom Petty-Akkorde, wenn man so will
Und wir fingen einfach an, weißt du
Diese super Mitsing-Refrains in dem Song zu singen und
Die Zeile, die ich am meisten liebe, ist ähm, "Kleinstadt-Klischee, ein bisschen wie du und ich"

Und du erzählst die Geschichte von diesen zwei jungen Liebenden, wo
Der Vater den Typen hasst; Klischee-Geschichte, aber eigentlich sprichst du über dich selbst
Äh, du bist jetzt älter, aber du kannst deine Kinder ansehen und sagen
"Ich will wirklich nicht, dass du gehst, aber du solltest gehen", so in der Art (ja)

In einem Zeitalter der Liebe, die einfach wie abtrünnig, rücksichtslos, wild ist, eine junge Liebesgeschichte
Äh, das fühlt sich einfach wie ein Stadion-Rocksong an, wenn man so will
