The Tree

Went through my father's clothes
Met with the smell of smoke
And buried in the dust
Saw that old coat was torn
Then I slowly sank to the earth

And I saw
Saw the man that I'd become
Pretending like there's nothing wrong
After all, I guess
I don't fall far from the tree
You've made the bed
So now you lay

Went through my father's drawers
All crimson and dirt adorned
But everything was there
Saw that the blood came off
Then went further into the dirt
