En la mañana, yo boto el agua

Se ponen más grande y cambian un poquito de color

Entonces, yo majo ajo en un poco de aceite de oliva con laurel
Y en ese sofrito echo la lenteja sin agua
O sea la cuelo, le saco el agua
La cuelo y la echo ahí y la muevo y le bajo el fuego
Pa que coja bien el sabor del ajo
Y ahí después le agrego el ajo, la cebolla, ajíes, lo que tú le quieras poner

Este, pongo a hervir en otra ollita chile, papo o lo que le vaya echar con agua
Entonces, cuando ya yo tengo eso bien sofrito, que ha cogido el color y pierde esa agua que tiene la papa y yo le pongo llama y la mezclo
Le bajo el fuego y nada más la pongo un punto de sal y un poquito de vinagre

My Magic Trick

Let me share my secret trick with you, darling.
I soak the lentils in water overnight.

Then, I sauté some garlic in olive oil with bay leaves.
To the sautéed mixture, I add the lentils without water.
I mean, I drain them, get rid of the water.

I turn down the heat and add just a pinch of salt and a little bit of vinegar.
It turns out so delicious.
