بِكوبِ الشَّرابِ المُرَصَّعِ باللازَوَردِ
انْتَظِرْها،
بِصَبْرِ الحِصانِ المُعَدّ لِمُنْحَدَراتِ الجِبالِ
انْتَظِرْها،

بِذَوْقِ الأميرِ الرَّفيعِ البَديعِ
انْتَظِرْها
بِسَبْعِ وَسائدَ مَحْشُوَّةٍ بِالسَّحابِ الخَفيفِ
انتَظِرْها،
بنارِ البَخُورِ النِّسائيِّ مِلءَ المَكانِ
انتَظِرْها،

ولا تَتَعَجَّلْ
فإنْ أَقْبَلَتْ بَعْدَ مَوْعِدِها
فَانْتَظِرْها،
وَإِن أَقْبَلَتْ قَبْلَ مَوْعِدِها
فانْتَظِرْها
وَلا تُجْفِلِ الطَّيْرَ فَوْقَ جَدائِلِها
وانْتَظِرْها،
لِكَيْ تَتَنَفَّسَ هذا الهواءَ الغَريبَ عَلى قَلبِها
وانْتَظِرها،
لِتَرفَعَ عَنْ ساقِها ثَوْبَها غَيْمَةً غَيمَةً
وانْتَظِرْها،

ومُسَّ على مَهَلٍ يَدَها عِنْدَما تَضَعُ الكأسَ فَوْقَ الرُّخامِ
كأنَّكَ تَحْمِلُ عَنْها النَّدى
وانْتَظِرها،

تَحَدَّثْ إِلَيْها كَما يَتَحَدَّثُ نايٌ إِلى وَتَرٍ خائِفٍ في الكَمانِ
كَأنَّكُما شاهِدانِ على ما يُعِدُّ غَدٌ لكما
وانْتَظِرْها،

وَلَمِّعْ لَها لَيْلَها خاتَماً خاتَماً
وانْتَظِرْها
إِلى أَن يَقولَ لَكَ اللَّيلُ:
لَمْ يَبْقَ غَيْرُكُما في الوجودِ
فَخُذْها، بِرِفْقٍ، إِلى مَوْتِكَ المُشْتَهى
وانْتَظِرْها

Dars Min Kama Sutra (A Lesson from Kama Sutra)

Strike the sapphire-studded goblet
Await her,
With the patience of a horse prepared for mountain slopes
Await her,

With the taste of a prince, exquisite and sublime
Await her
With seven pillows stuffed with airy clouds
Await her,
With the feminine fragrance of incense filling the space
Await her,

And do not rush
If she arrives after her appointment
Then await her,
And if she arrives before her appointment
Then await her
And do not startle the bird upon her tresses
And await her,
So that she may breathe this air that is strange to her heart
And await her,
So that she may lift the gown from her legs, cloud by cloud
And await her,

And touch her hand softly as she places the goblet upon the marble
As if you are carrying the dew from her
And await her,

Speak to her as a flute speaks to a quivering string in a violin
As if you both are witnesses to what tomorrow holds for you
And await her,

And illuminate her night, ring by ring
And await her
Until the night tells you:
There remains nothing but the two of you in existence
Then take her, gently, to your desired death
And await her
