ای شب از رویای تو رنگین شده
سینه از عطر توام سنگين شده
ای به روی چشم من گسترده خویش
شادی ام بخشیده از اندوه بیش
همچو بارانی که شوید جسم خاک
هستی ام زالودگی ها کرده پاک
این دلِ تنگ من و این دودِ عود
در شبستان، زخمه های چنگ و رود
عشق چون در سینه ام بیدار شد
از طلب پا تا سرم ایثار شد
عشق دیگر نیست این، این خیرگی ست
چلچراغی در سکوت و تیرگی ست
این دل تنگ من و این دودِ عود
در شبستان، زخمه های چنگ و رود
این فضای خالی و پروازها
این شبِ خاموش و این آوازها
ای مرا با شورِ شعر آمیخته
اینهمه آتش به شعرم ریخته
چون تبِ عشقم چنین افروختی
لاجرم شعرم به آتش سوختی

Oh night, you are adorned in my dreams
My heart is heavy with your sweet scent
Oh you who have spread before my eyes
You have gifted me joy and respite from sorrow
Like rain that cleanses the body of earth
You have cleansed my being of all impurity
This aching heart of mine, and this fragrant incense
In the sanctuary, the melodies of harp and lute
When love awakened in my breast
My entire being became a sacrifice to desire
This is no longer love, it is an enchantment
A beacon in the silence and darkness

Oh you who have mingled your ecstasy with my poetry
You have poured such fire into my verse
When you ignited the fever of my love
It was inevitable that my poetry would be consumed by flames
