あれは麻疹で早退けした午後
母の背中で少し眠った

ゆるい坂道 降りきった頃に
どこか泣きたい気持ちになった

ぼんやり開けた目に
いっぱいのベニトンボ
大事なひと時 悼むように
紅く紅く燃えて
夕焼けへと
溶けていったね

37度6分を持て余した部屋
小さな残像 息をしている

ひとりの生活も
苦になんてならないと
それでも記憶の片隅には
紅く紅く染まる
一枚の絵
変わることなく

That afternoon I left school early with measles
I fell fast asleep on my mother's back

As we reached the bottom of the gentle slope
I felt like crying

Through my hazy eyes, I saw
A swarm of crimson dragonflies
They seemed to mourn the passing of a precious moment
Burning ever brighter in the sunset
Until they dissolved into the sky
Like melted wax

Stuck inside with a fever of 37.6
I see a faint afterimage, still breathing

Living alone isn't difficult
Or so they say
But in the back of my mind
A picture remains, as vibrant as ever
Painted in hues of crimson
Unfading
