Dave Dudley - Ode To 10-33 paroles de chanson

paroles de chanson Ode To 10-33 - Dave Dudley

I was grinding gears and trucking up ol highway 395
On a dead head on a January night
It was cold and raining from the northern California skies
I knew the ground tomorrow would be white
I turned off my AM and turned on my ol cb
Set about talking with a chill
When I heard somebody breaking with a weak 10-33
So I grabbed the mic and stopped her on the hill
Well I was shoutin back to no one thinkin my mind was playin tricks
When I heard another breaker call me down
He asked me what my 20 was and said he'd see me soon
And after that I never heard another sound
Well I tried an hour to get that breaker back
That caller 33 but couldn't raise a sole
When a pair of lights came tearing around the curve from down below
When he stopped I saw it was the state patrol
Well I told him about the 33 that I had out in the night
That I tried to get him back but had no luck
Well ol smokey passed his thanks along and said he'd check it out
So I said goodbye and climbed up in my truck
I jockeyed that freightliner up the highway one more time
Topped the hill and rolled down the valley floor
I poured myself a cup of coffee and I only had a sip
When I heard that 33 breaking through once more
That ol mountain must have been the reason
That I couldn't get a copy while I was truckin up the other side
Cause hear I was listenin to a 10 to all the way
So again I backed her down and let her slide
That breaker with a 33 I got you wall to wall
Can you tell me what your 20 is my friend
He said off in a deep ravine lyin upside down
Went to sleep and left the highway in a spin
Breaker smokey this is fireball I'm on the other side
You got a copy put that hammer down
Cause that dude that called that 33 is out here in a ditch
Get a wrecker and an ambulance from town
Well he found him and they brought him out
Before the break of dawn
And it was just beginning to snow
They said he owed his life to me but that aint how I feel
He owes it to his cb radios
