Rytmy

O świcie wydmy ściągają na siebie
Skośną poświatę z pobliskiej pustyni
Co cienie kładzie na brzeg oceanu.
Słońce promieniem w wodorostach grzebie
Cherlawy wietrzyk o smaku brzoskwini
Chcąc nie chcąc łyka zdrową porcję tranu.
Dzień się rozkłada w rozpustnej spiekocie
Poci się blaskiem zakrzepłych kryształów
Ocean stoi obrócony w niebo.
Rozkwitłe w skałach wapienne paprocie
Zajawą cienia pęcznieją pomału -
Słychać, jak rośnie skamieniałe drzewo.
Zmierzch nad widnokres kościołem wystrzeli
Zawiesi miasto z płonącej tkaniny
Na krótki pacierz, póki słońca zachód
Falą jedwabne prześcieradła ścieli;
Fioletem błysną płynne seledyny,
Sunąc z szelestem szorstką skórą piachu.
Tak czas się bawi chwilą z oceanem,
Niepomny pierwszej, nieświadom ostatniej -
Zawsze trafiając we właściwą strunę.
Chociaż już wszystko było powiedziane
Tyle już razy - ile ust i natchnień -
Powiem raz jeszcze na własny rachunek:
Można żyć pięknie wierząc w życia szczerość,
Która ocala, lub obraca wniwecz,
Że nie zabraknie świtów, dni i zmierzchów
Z ostatnim włącznie, po którym dopiero -
Jak mówią - zacznie się życie prawdziwe...
Chyba stęsknione za tym, które pierzchło.

Rhythms

At dawn, the dunes gather upon themselves
A slanting glow from the nearby desert
That casts shadows on the shores of the ocean.
The sun searches with its rays in the seaweed
A puny breeze with the taste of peaches
Willingly or unwillingly, it swallows a healthy portion of cod liver oil.
The day lays itself out in wanton heat
Sweats with the brilliance of congealed crystals
The ocean stands turned into the sky.
The calcareous ferns blooming in the rocks
Gradually swell out of love for shade -
One hears how the petrified tree grows.
Twilight will shoot up into the horizon like a church
Hang a city of flaming cloth
For a short prayer until the sun sets
Waves silk sheets with its waves;
Violet will flash, liquid greens,
Sliding with a rustle over the rough skin of sand.
Thus time plays for a moment with the ocean,
Unmindful of the first, unaware of the last -
Always striking the right chord.
Though everything has already been said
So many times - as many as there are voices and inspirations -
I will say it once more on my own account:
One can live beautifully by believing in the sincerity of life,
Which saves, or turns to naught,
That there will be no shortage of dawns, days and twilights
Including the last one, after which -
As they say - real life will begin...
Probably longing for the one that has flown away.
