paroles de chanson

Track 13, the last track on the record, is "Welcome Home"
I wrote this about a veteran friend of mine who had PTSD
And in the process, about several other veterans I know
Uh, primarily Vietnam vets, but they could come from
And have come from various conflicts up to the present
Uh, who have suffered from PTSD as much as physical
Injuries, um, or some death, even, but, uh
But "Welcome Home" talks about the fact that, um
We like to praise our soldiers, our warriors
And, and honor them and wave the flag
But we don't always take care of them when we're home
I was chairman in the House of Representatives of the
Subcommittee on Veterans' Disabilities and Memorial Affairs
And, uh, and worked on getting quicker, um, funding
To vets who come home with PTSD or any kind of a
Traumatic brain injury or loss of a limb or so on
Who, who, uh, needs to be taken care of immediately and
Shouldn't have to wait the six months or however long that
Waiting list, waiting time was when I was in that position
So, uh, "Welcome Home," this is for anybody
Who serves or has served in our armed forces
