Winter

I'm right back to the start
My two feet on the ground
With no comfort from another
Just myself to lift me high

I'm gliding on the surface
With the call of the horizon
Colourful wings in the sky
Attached to graceful sea-dancers

Seems like summer's come to an end
And like winter sets and spreads

There's no more sense of time
I'm blinded by emotions
Don't tell me to be rational
There's no point even trying
I'm hurt and I'm surviving the best that I can
Just call me by my name so that my brain can try to settle
And I'll take deep breaths so my throat can start to swallow

I'm holding in my hand a bowl of light
It travels in my veins in some glowing disguise

No matter the pain I'm in it's not going anywhere
So when my skin gets too cold it warms my soul again

Summer's come to an end
And winter sets and spreads
