Submission is sacrificial and I struggle with it too

But struggled to carry the burden to show up in my marriage when hurt or embarrassed

I had to choose between living for me or murder the marriage
Had to choose being a peacemaker and bury the hatchet
Had to murder and then bury some habits

I had to choose between being bitter or better at loving you like Christ loves his bride
Willing to die for your bride takes on a whole other meaning

I got some issues from my past and girl you know what I mean
When I get triggered I get fired up and go in my feelings

And its so unappealing
I know I'm not looking a whole lot like Jesus
You shut down and I do whole lotta speaking

I know the cross you got to carry is submission
But my cross is dying
My cross is loving you laying everything on the line
My cross is still showing up for you when you cross the line

My cross is heavy
I struggle under the weight
My cross is heavy
I feel like running away

But somehow I keep on showing up everyday
And it's for no other reason
Than carrying a cross I know I don't need to
Really makes me look a whole lot like Jesus
