The Old Man

The rain writes its diary on fallen leaves
The old man gazes upon the leaden clouds
The rain will end just as summer did
But it will never be warm again

The old man will return to his lonely home
He will hang his raincoat on a hook

Winter tiptoes into the room
It places a period on the last line
The seagull's cry falls silent over the leaden sea
The weary old man slumbers among the shadows...
