I've learned if you wait for something better
It might all just pass you by
And some things are better left unsaid
But the hardest things to say do no good kept inside
And sometimes the things that matter
Seem the last thing on your mind
And the simplest things can seem so hard to find

I've learned that fear can do you harm
Can hold you and pull you back
From the strength you need to carry on
And the sweetness of love can be just as bitter too
Any gift in life should be sacred

I fear without knowing where you come from
Can blind you where you're going to
But then again where we begin
Can always start anew
And sometimes being sheltered
Can keep you out into the storm
