Man schwärmt so gern wie schön und sauber früher Alles war.

Sie hab'n halt an die Wirtschaft und an Wunder noch geglaubt.
Das Wachstum hat ihnen die letzten Hemmungen geraubt.
Es war wie in an Supermarkt durch den die vollen Wagerln rolln,
Nur kana wollt zur Kassa geh'n und zahl 'n.

Weu des Recht wird ungerechter.
Wie lang lass ma uns no pflanzen,
Kann net wer die Bonzen stanzen?

One often sees the past very idealised in old age.
If you reach an old age, that's not bad either.
One often raves about how beautiful and clean everything used to be.
But regrettably we know better and all that is not true.

They just believed in economy and miracles.
Growth robbed them of their last inhibitions.
It was like in a supermarket through which the full shopping carts roll,
Only nobody wanted to go to the checkout and pay.

It will not get any better, rather worse,
Because the right is becoming more unjust.
For how long will they plant us?
Can't someone go after the bigwigs?
It will not get better without doubt
It will not get better, to hell with it.

They say: "It was not all bad, but unfortunately most of it was.
And too many keep getting away with it unpunished.
They say they rebuilt the country from rubble and ashes,
But the ideology before the collapse is unfortunately still very familiar.
