Kaum hot da Ferdl seine Floschna
Sogt a: "Mitzi reib ma's Messa aus da Toschna!"
Doch de Mitzi sogt: "Da Teife sois hoin
Jetzt hot ma wer mei Taschl gstoihn!"
Und indem dass dann der gschupfte Ferdl wehrlos war
Hat die Übermacht ihn ziemlich malträtiert
Er bekam ein blaues Äugl dass er schwerlos war
Das hat er mit kalte Umschläg sich kuriert
Und er nimmt sooft ihm der Schädl brummt

Dapper Dan

Today, Dapper Dan puts on fresh socks
Green and yellow striped, oh so elegant
Slicks back his curls with the finest brilliantine
Polishes his shoes and then slips into his suit
Because at Wimmer's out in Neu-Lerchenfeld

At the corner, he meets Mitzi Wasdapschik
The popular pin-up girl from Hernals
Her outfit, like his, is quite subtle and chic

So the two of them head to Wimmer's with joyful hearts
At the cloakroom, they see a large sign:

Without further ado, Dapper Dan puts down
His pocketknife

Then, with vigor and panache
A lively jitterbug begins

Ferdinand sweeps Mitzi onto the dance floor

On the last note, he makes a mistake
To which Ferdinand says: "That's a sought-after off-key!"

But right next to him stands a young man
Who believes that Ferdinand might have meant him
And he is very depressed by this remark
Ferdinand once stole Mitzi away from him, you see

He finds that very mean indeed
But he hates brawls
So he just bites Ferdinand on the nose
Ferdinand is quite desperate
He doesn't know what to do
Because he foolishly left his knife in the cloakroom

But immediately after, he feels better
Because he remembers
Mitzi still has a knife!
He pulls himself together
And gives his opponent
A rather light shove!

This shove sends him flying across the entire dance floor
On the other end, he sadly picks himself up from the wall
And five, six dancers
Writhe on the floor
One of them says:
"Now there's probably gonna be a casualty!"
To which another says:
"Why not just a fatality?"

They shake hands
Then they rummage through Ferdinand's suit

As soon as Ferdinand catches his breath
He says: "Mitzi, hand me the knife from your purse!"
But Mitzi says: "The devil take it
Someone stole my purse!"
And since Dapper Dan was defenseless
The mob roughed him up quite a bit
He got a black eye that made him feel weightless
He treated it with cold compresses
And whenever his head throbs
He takes two Pyramidon

But next week, Dapper Dan puts on fresh socks again
