Sapita Music - Washington To Wells paroles de chanson

paroles de chanson Washington To Wells - Sapita Music

Well I think it's
Time that I move on
Go out and find myself a job
Forget about this big mistake
But first I'll take a summer off
Cut some strokes off of my golf
And figure out where I went wrong
And then move on
To Chicago (2019)
I'll spend a few months back in Dayton
Treat the craft like 9 to 5
Before a lousy job in shipping
Becomes my entire life
Finally writing songs again
And reconnecting with old friends
Life's pretty good
(Are we allowed to use a minor key on this album?)
(Okay let's do it)
Until you go and pop the hood
And realize everything's amiss
Because the light of all my summers
Feelin' like they've all just dimmed
I miss my Rose, she's still with Jack
They both survived out on the raft
And I was only blowing smoke
I never even touched an ax
Pack my bags up for Chicago
Head west up the interstate
70 to 65
Middle July
That was the date
I'll rent a four person apartment
Vince and (Rachel) Nick and Dave
It's pretty cool
I'll take the brown line into work
A high-rise on West Wacker Drive
We've gone from Washington to Wells
That's one of my most clever lines
Fill the void
By staying busy
Writing songs about my history
At least I'm trying
I see your friends from time to time
I put on a smile, keep it light
I wish they knew I'm at these parties
Hoping one day you'd arrive
But now it's 2022
I haven't seen a glimpse of you
And man I hate spoil the ending
But it's Tom and Summer two
This is my chance to start anew
It's goin' peach, I've had a blast
Well at least until the weekends
There's just something about that
Something that I can't describe
A ghost that haunts me every time
I dare step foot inside a bar
Or an apartment party I just
Stop
(At least until the weekend)
(There's just something about that)
