I'm a pretty good actor
I can act real scared in grocery stores
Like if I walk in fast I fool the panic
Into laying low awhile
Learned to smile
Pretend the weather is an interesting thing

The weakness in the wizard
Beauty in this beast
The laughter in the tragedy
The Judas in the priest

But there's strength in weakness
There's beauty in age
There's mirth and forgiveness
And freedom in this cage

Stability that crumbles
The power in this fail
I know she might have saved me
She could see behind the veil

I pretend we'll keep our money
That I'm not going blind
That mental health is certain
That I'm worth somebody's time

That my daughter will get hearing
And the birth defects will heal
After twenty years of hoping
It's just not real
