Zé Rolha na frente tocando berrante chamando a boiada

Num Domingo, de rodeio
Chiquinho bebeu e não me obedeceu, pulou no picadeiro

A pata tremeu, mas num pulo que deu matou meu companheiro

The Three Cowboys

Traveling along the roads,
Zé Rolha in front, playing the horn, calling the herd,
And Chiquinho, always by his side,

And we lived the life, driving the cattle.

But one day, in the winter,
A storm came over us, a landslide, the cattle broke loose.
On that day, Zé Rolha died.
He fell from his horse and landed in a ditch, the herd trampled him.
Chiquinho and I were left, driving the cattle.

One Sunday, at a rodeo,
Chiquinho had too much to drink, disobeyed me, and charged into the ring.
In a flash, I dismounted my steer,
Its foot shook, but with a leap it killed my friend.
