He struck the seven giants with one sweep,
So that their blood ran to their death.

"While I still stand here," said Ramund the young.

With fear and sorrowful face.
"Who is the man that stands in the yard,
And laughs so terribly there?
"It is I, I have the desire," said Ramund,
"To dare a duel with you," said Ramund the young.

Ramund took to his great knife,
The one he called the dear Dymling.
He parted the Emperor from his life,
So that his head flew fifteen miles.
"I did not mean it that well," said Ramund,
"But the blood still runs down," said Ramund the young.
