Elephant Song

I am a husky pachyderm
My hide is thick, my legs are firm
But what is handy as can be
I carry my trunk with me

My ears are big, my tail is short
I'm powerful as any fort
To keep myself completely free

Of peanuts I am fond
I eat them by the ton
And for my great big appetite
What prizes I have won

I lead a very quiet life
With all my babies and my wife
For them in each emergency

Like other female elephants
I am the one that wears the pants
To store provisions carefully

My memory is so very good
Recalling all the things I should
But best of all, I will agree

Whenever I perform
I always am the star
To see the many stunts I do
They travel near and far

I must admit I am immense
My love for children is intense
They're very much surprised to see
