Twilight

There are times when I believe
This is the best of all possible worlds
There are times when that brings me down
There are times when I know
I'll never have more fun
Than I'm having right now

As day turns to night
In the twilight
I try to hold the moment
But it is gone

Like reverse alchemy
The leaves are turning brown
Entropy is winning
I see it in every town

As days turn to miles
And miles turn to years
What's left of hope
Is turning into fear

In the twilight
There is only the road
Taking me somewhere
I have never known

All this turning and changing
Doesn't seem to touch me
