Just thinking bout the future and the life he has to chase

Or the way the world is broken and the truth is always caged
But now he's all grown up and that's exactly what he hate's
I don't understand why the world is always cold
You think with global warming it would start to thaw some souls
But the civil world is burning yet we keep on adding coals
Why can't we stop the fire
Why can't we just be a whole
If you're thinking of the kid, or the child, it was me
I'm just wandering a world
Where the faces scream defeat
I'm just living through frustration
Yet I stick with my beliefs
If you think it's gonna change
My world is not what you perceive

My mind is stuck in Vegas cause it's steady playing tricks on me
Ace of Spades and King of Hearts
I contemplate what's suiting me
I wear my heart across my sleeve so you can see what's true to me
Spades of black I recognize cause darkness seems to cloud my dreams
These faces that I recognize are asking me how I believe
I just keep on building so the kid in me could still achieve
A house of all the imagery he sought after in times of grief
Cause I just can't depart him
I'm too smart

Why can't we just follow all the kids inside our heart
Would the younger kid in you be proud of who you really are
Or would you disappoint him cause you gave up on your art
And you decide that your comfort was too nice to step apart
I don't know why you walk this road ignoring past like it don't matter
I'm not scared of death

And the past just seems to highlight wasted chances and disaster
And reminds me of the times I almost gave up on my laughter

It's just heartbreak and sadness
And pain inside my setlist
I wrote this song for dreamers
Cause no one else has said this
I know that finding peace is hard

Cause I've lived a life of chasing peace and greatness and the moments
While I hide behind a mask, afraid to show my real emotions
I have chosen to open up on this song
The emotional side of me took the pen
Then it wrote this
And I've always been afraid of growing up
I never chose this but I had too
I had to grow up
I just had to understand

And death was always in the plan

I just hope they understand

That the lessons learned in life are just the building blocks of character
And how you choose to grow is really up to how you manage it
But know that even towers fall and have to suffer damages
