Long Cold Summer

In a long cold summer
We still long
For tomatoes
And cucumbers
And the old sun
Just won't come
And these rainy days
Seem to last forever
It's like swimming
With a shark
It's like reading
In the dark
There were seconds
In the sun
The spare moments
We had fun
Dreaming of holidays
We ain't got the money for
Peanut butter on our sandwiches
Cup of tea instead of coffee
The newspaper of yesterday
We can use in several ways
But you and me will get through
These rainy days
