Текст песни Rockin' Chairs (Commentary) - Brantley Gilbert
The very first song on this album is called "Rockin' Chairs"
Tell me a little bit about this song and how you came to write it
My papa and his buddies used to sit around a old wood stove
In a hardware store called Kenny's
In the small town of Jefferson, Georgia
Where I grew up
And I remember one of my favorite things to do as a kid
Was go there and sit around and listen to them tell their stories
You know, when they were young and in trouble and just acting up
And I remember this old fella used to sit in the corner and he didn't ever talk
And they used to say, it's 'cause he never did nothing
So you know, "Rockin' Chairs" is, since my papa passed away
That's one of the things that I remember about him
His stories and his memories
I remember them sitting around and telling them stories
And it's all about living the life
So that you got some stories to tell
I wanna live so that I have stories to tell when I'm sitting right on my rockin' chair
