Louie's navn blev taget af samtlige koncertplakater
Han rendte fremmedgjort rundt på Vesterbro
Iført T-shirts terylenebukser & gummisko
Fodrende juke-boxe & spilleautomater
Rastløs som et barn med et vildkatligt begær
Affødt af disse maskiner
Skreg Louie desperat gi' mig en jack-pot
I en af nattens allersidste timer

Louie's Band

This is the story of Louie's band
A band like most
A pianist, a scholarly guitarist
A multi-armed drummer
& A swamp rock bassist
& Louie himself sang for the most part
Of the time they were five men, but then two men fell away
The remaining three were a bit too sad for them
& There stood Louie with a superband
Who would eventually become his very last
Louie was neither a brainchild, a hoax, nor a bluff
But authentic, real, genuine, & convincing
Louie went out like a shooting star
He sold all his gear for the highest bid
& Admitted outright that he was finished
They started as a quintet, but have now ended up as a trio
Two-fifths were tempted to play in a big band
Mediocre to the very end
I vividly remember the day
Louie's name being taken off of all the concert posters
He wandered around Vesterbro as a stranger
Wearing T-shirts, terylene trousers, & sneakers
Feeding jukeboxes & slot machines
Restless as a child with a wildcat's lust
Born from these machines
Louie screamed desperately, "Give me a jackpot"
In one of the night's very last hours
