که شادان یا غمین آهی برآرد
کسی ازکومه سر بیرون نیاورد
نه مرغ از لانه نه دود از اجاقی
هوا با ضربه های دف نجنبید
گلی خود روی برنامد زباغی
بهار خاموش آمد دریغا از حیاتی

No one lit the lamp
No one touched the spindle that remained silent on the shelf
No one dusted the rusted mirror

Spring arrived in vain
It lingered and passed on every roof

To walk the lonely road
No one appeared before the wind
To sigh either in joy or sorrow
No one emerged from their huts
Neither birds from their nests nor smoke from their chimneys

No flowers bloomed spontaneously in the gardens
Spring came silently, alas for life
In this desolate and painful abode
