I had shared my story, about losing my speech due to nerve damage
And while I was in recovery, I wrote this song
And when I hear those first couple of notes
It really transports me back into the vulnerability
And that step by step recovery that I was on in this song
When I obviously, I got to record it, I was back to singing, so that was very, very special but
The actual sound of it is the old school throwback "Beatles"

And when we first produced it, I couldn't get my main man Aaron Sterling in
And then as fate would have it I tried again
And we said you know what we've got to re-record these drums
So Aaron stepped in and change the whole direction of it and really felt authentic
In recording the vocal at the Village in L.A.
We had a vocal chamber that Fleetwood Mac recorded "Tusk" the album in
And in the chamber we played the vocal through a speaker on one side
And recorded it on the other side for the natural slap back delay that you hear on the record today

Ich hatte meine Geschichte erzählt, wie ich durch eine Nervenschädigung meine Sprache verlor.
Und während ich mich erholte, schrieb ich diesen Song.
Und wenn ich diese ersten paar Noten höre,
versetzt es mich wirklich zurück in die Verletzlichkeit
und diese schrittweise Erholung, die ich in diesem Song durchmachte.
Als ich ihn dann aufnehmen durfte, konnte ich wieder singen, das war sehr, sehr besonders, aber
der eigentliche Klang ist der Old-School-Throwback der "Beatles".

Und als wir ihn zum ersten Mal produzierten, konnte ich meinen Hauptmann Aaron Sterling nicht bekommen.
Und wie es das Schicksal so wollte, versuchte ich es noch einmal.
Und wir sagten, weißt du was, wir müssen diese Drums neu aufnehmen.
Also sprang Aaron ein und änderte die ganze Richtung und es fühlte sich wirklich authentisch an.
Bei der Aufnahme des Gesangs im Village in L.A.
hatten wir eine Gesangskammer, in der Fleetwood Mac das Album "Tusk" aufgenommen hat.
Und in der Kammer spielten wir den Gesang durch einen Lautsprecher auf der einen Seite ab
und nahmen ihn auf der anderen Seite auf, für die natürliche Slap-Back-Verzögerung, die man heute auf der Aufnahme hört.
