We had a trauma bond, we told each other our experiences
It was like a marathon, the way we ran away from hearing it and
If we had nobody, we got us
We was coping with the trauma, we got trust

I never had to deal with that I got to know you, tried to show you
Every dude don't wanna take advantage
We can be friends, cause you keep it real
But I can't lie, I'm kinda catching feels
But I won't rush and move with caution, gotta let you heal
Time changed all things, you open to everything
Endless possibilities
I'm only seeing you and me

We had the greatest times
I felt like I could do anything with you by my side
I'm breathing easier these days, you got me changing all my ways
Don't get as frustrated as usual
We might smoke a little something, get real high
And then we talk it through
You having problems with your mental
And your people's made it worse
Many nights it had you crying, shedding tears all on my shirt
And I cut off all distractions, we just tryna get your mind right
I'm doing all I can, and at that time we had our first fight
Because of your last man, you thought I was creeping
I'm pleading my case with you, you know that we locked in
You know that I got you, you know we was friends first
The last thing I wanna see is you crying, that shit hurt

Shit was smooth, so I let up on the compliments
Going through motions, tryna work on my accomplishments
We getting further from each other, I can feel that this shit crazy
One week we be doing good, next week we argue on a daily
Don't really ask me how I'm feeling, I'm emotional support
My grandfather getting sick, my brother caught up in them courts
I get restless and neglect your feelings I made mistakes, you just can't take it
But you still willing
I put it all on the table
I was willing, but not able
Had to let you know
Life was weighing heavy, getting deadly, had to let you know
But I hoped, and prayed, and thought about you every single day
If I can't make you happy, I just want you happy
And if you need something, you can always get at me
You taught me life lessons, I'll always keep it with me
