Текст песни America - Eric Leo 108

Remember kids
Here in America it's not about what you know
And how hard you work
It's all about who you know
And how much money you have to invest
These goddamn politicians that are older than dirt
Won't have to live with the consequences their laws did on earth
They're much more worried bout their pocketbook and worth
While children are dying and housing crisis gets worse
I know a lot mothers that don't work
Cuz they can't afford child care
I get it, you can't live, and it's just not fair
You work your ass off, I hear ya there
And then can't retire although you worked thirty years
You wanna know, what inequality looks like?
It's another dead life from healthcare privatized
When mega billionaires are idolized
They're praised for not paying workers right
Real freedom is economic freedom
And corporations drive inflation
Leverage consumers to squeeze them
For every dollar they're gettin
So if you want debt bondage in a couple generations
Stagnate their wages and raise the general prices
Which is exactly what happened, it's not hard to see
It's a rigged economy by the elites
You work in the factory
Or left out on the streets
This country should be designed for "we the people"
Social security is a holy beacon
Thank god for welfare
And them acting like Jesus
Caring bout the poor
And healing so they see this
These goddamn politicians that are older than dirt
Won't have to live with the consequences their law do on earth
They're much more worried bout their pockets and worth
While children are dying and housing crisis gets worse
I know a lot of mothers that don't work
Cuz they can't afford childcare
I get it, you can't live, and it's just not fair
You work your ass off, I hear ya there
And then can't retire although you worked thirty years
America
Why do you make me hate you?
America
Where's the gull that made you?
America
Where's the love that shaped you?
America
The elites play you a fool
So America
Why do you make me hate you?
America
Where's the gull that made you?
America
Where's the love that shaped you?
America
What would you do?
Every day I wake up and have to think
Waste another day, cuz it's sad to see
I can't afford a house or a family
From how the Republicans rigged the economy
I canceled going to graduate school
Cuz I can't afford tuition
And since I can't work for it
It'd be just a debt sentence
Now I'm depressed and can't resume
Because America has left me destitute
No opportunity for advancement
Let Alone a job
Cuz exploiting labor is how they got
Billions and then claim it came from god
When most can't see the real fasaud
Costs ten grand to have a baby
And another five hundred just to raise um
That's money for the economy in profits and labor
And it all goes to benefit corporations
Cuz these goddamn politicians that are older than dirt
Won't have to live with the consequences their laws did on earth
They're much more worried about their pockets and worth
While children are dying and housing crisis gets worse
I know a lot of mothers that don't work
Cuz they can't afford childcare
I get it, you can't live, and it's just not fair
You work your ass off, I hear ya there
And then can't retire although you worked thirty years
America
Why do you make me hate you?
America
Where's the gull that made you?
America
Where's the love that shaped you?
America
The elites play you a fool
So America
Why do you make me hate you?
America
Where's the gull that made you?
America
Where's the love that shaped you?
America
What would you do?
