Текст песни My Anatomy Partner - FlipSide Poetry

A FlipSide Production
She is the best thing that ever happened for my anatomy class
Because of her, I have learned so much about myself
The moment I saw her walking across that library room floor
My heart started to pump and I could feel my brain come alive
The curves of her body cause the folds of my cerebrum
To crease and straighten and crease again
The pupils of my eyes envelop her silhouette
And I find myself in an unbroken stare as she walks past me
The stagnant air is pierced by her sweet perfume
Now my olfactory gland sends a message to my cranial lobe
That it loves her essence
With that my nasal cavity is peaked and my nostrils flare
To take in her full scent
With my brain now in overdrive
A whispery ooh escapes from my awe-inspired lips
And I begin to wonder, Who is she?
Through her flowing black hair
Her ears perk up and with a turn
She smiles slightly
My heart now pounding
Through the pectoral muscles in my chest
Cause my optical lenses to lose focus for a moment
And as I come to I see her sitting across the book-filled room
And my mind begins to race
Did she smile at me, did I say something
Should I say something now?
If I do, how will she respond?
But then my mind is interrupted
By the urges of my body longing to meet her
See her, smell her, and know her name
My brain, now in overdrive begins
To receive impulses from all over my body
My big toe starts talking to the other toes
Then to my feet, ankles, calves, thighs, and glutes
All telling my body to stand up
My stomach fluttering with butterflies
Causes some indecision
But is quickly drowned out by the sudden rush of adrenalin
That infuses my every sense
My chest heaves with false courage
And my throat involuntarily swallows
Down my esophageal tract
Causing an unwanted cottonmouth syndrome
As I give in and rise to my feet my patellae a.k.a. kneecaps
Begin to quiver in anticipation
My eyes calculate
37 feet, 37 feet
That's how far she is, that's the goal
Walk 37 feet, stop and speak
I take the first step and now I can hear my heartbeat in my ears
It is almost discouraging me
Don't go, don't go, turn back, sit down
Don't go, don't go, turn back, sit down
That I ignore only to get more resistance from the sweat
My palms grow moist like a wet nap
While my underarms drip a solitary drop
Down each side using each rib as an unyielding speed bump
But I press on
With 10 feet left, I make eye contact
And force a nervous smile
A more toothy grin than I would have liked
But not quite creepy
Still trying desperately to look cool under pressure
I take one last deep breath, stop and speak
Hi, I just wanted to tell you
I think you are beautiful
My name is Robert and I hope
That one day we can get to know each other better
My brain quietly celebrates: We did it, we did it!
But don't get too excited, listen for a response
The overload of synapses is almost causing me to blackout
But just then she responds
Sorry I'm married
