Текст песни I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous - Live - Frank Turner
Thank
you
Good
evening
friends
and
welcome
to
the
show
Thanks
for
being
here
Tonight
we're
gonna
tell
some
stories
And
this
song
is
a
story
about
life,
About
love,
about
last
minutes
and
about
lost
evenings
Let's
begin
at
the
beginning
we're
lovers
and
we're
losers
We're
heroes
and
we're
pioneers
and
we're
beggers
and
we're
choosers
We're
skirting
round
the
edges
of
the
ideal
demographic
We're
almost
on
the
guest
list
but
we're
always
stuck
in
traffic
We've
watched
our
close
associates
up
and
play
their
parts
They're
chatting
up
the
it
girls
and
they're
tearing
up
the
charts
While
we
were
paying
in
coppers
to
get
our
rounds
in
at
the
bar
We're
the
C-team
we're
the
almost
famous
old
friends
of
the
stars
Hey
Newcastle
would
you
please
give
a
Warm
warm
welcome
to
The
Sleeping
Souls
Now
Justin
is
the
last
of
the
great
romantic
poets
He's
the
only
one
among
us
who
is
ever
gonna
make
it
And
we
planned
the
revolution
from
a
cheap
Southampton
bistro
I
don't
remember
details
but
there
were
English
boys
with
banjos
Jay
is
our
Saint
George,
he's
standing
on
a
wooden
chair
And
he
sings
songs
and
he
slays
dragons
and
he's
losing
all
his
hair
And
Adam
is
the
resurrected
spirit
of
Gram
Parsons
In
plaid
instead
of
rhinestone
and
living
in
South
London
And
no
one's
really
sure
about
Tommy's
job
description
It's
pretty
clear
he's
vital
to
the
whole
damn
operation
Dave
danger
stares
at
strangers,
Tre's
the
safest
girl
I
know
Zo
and
Harps
will
scamper
up
to
victory
in
the
city
we
call
home
But
we
won't
change
our
ways
We
will
proud
remain
When
the
glory
fades
When
the
glory
fades
Yeah
I'm
sick
and
tired
of
people
who
are
living
on
the
B-list
Yeah
they're
waiting
to
be
famous
And
they're
wondering
why
they
do
this
And
I
know
I'm
not
the
one
who
is
habitually
optimistic
I'm
the
one
who's
the
microphone
here
so
just
remember
this
Yeah
well
life
is
about
love,
last
minutes
and
lost
evenings
About
fire
in
our
bellies
and
about
furtive
little
feelings
And
the
aching
amplitudes
that
set
our
needles
all
a-flickering
They
help
us
in
remembering
the
only
thing
that's
left
to
do
is
live
Yeah
the
only
thing
that's
left
to
do
is
live
After
all
the
loving
and
the
losing,
oh
the
heroes
and
the
pioneers
The
only
thing
that's
left
to
do
is
get
another
round
in
at
the
bar
Thank
you
very
much
good
evening
Newcastle
My
name
is
Frank
Turner
and
this
is
the
Sleeping
Souls
Thank
you
for
coming
out
this
evening
and
Welcome,
I
should
say,
to
show
number
2429
Uh
which
is
a
pretty
crazy
number
by
anybody's
standards
Uhm
it's
also,
it's
show
number
18
in
Newcastle
And
uh
I
promise
you
that
the
other
2411
shows
meant
nothing
And
they
were
all
just
dress
rehearsals
until
we
got
here
this
evening
Uhm
ah
2429
that's
the
largest
number
And
uhm
ah
that's
just
shows
tha
I've
done
under
my
own
name
That
doesn't
include
other
bands
I
was
in
when
I
Was
younger
or
side
projects
or
anything
like
that
'Cause
I
did
my
first
tour
in
the
summer
of
1998
Which
is
increasingly
a
depressingly
long
time
ago
But
I
guess
my
point
in
taking
about
all
of
this
is
just
to
at
that
Its,
it's
safe
to
say
that
I've
spent
most
of
my
adult
life
on
tour
Right
and
that's
a
wonderful
thing,
I'm
very
happy
and
lucky
to
have
done
that
What
I
want
to
do
tonight
is
to
try
and
tell
you
some
Stories
of
the
things
that
Ive
learned
over
21
years
on
the
road
Because
hopefully
I've
learned
something
Y'know
what
I
mean
