At 70

At 70, there's less to life than there used to be
But that's okay with me
There's a sense of unbridled urgency
To finish off the rest

At 70, listening to "Groovin'" on CBD
No, that's not really me
Just some friends who are right where they want to be
As they're making the best of a bad situation

I'm gonna be what I want to be
See who I want to see
Someday when I see those friends
I will never, ever take them for granted again

At 70, there's still some dreams ahead
It's never over if it's in your head
Can't be a has-been if you've never been
It all comes down where and when

At 70, I'm a little bit shorter than I used to be
But that's okay with me
'Cause I'm looking at life from a new perspective
Making the best of a bad situation

I'm gonna be who I want to be
Dream what I want to dream
Put my best foot forward and never give in
And I will never, ever surrender dreams again

And if I die tomorrow, no regrets about the path I chose
Knowing what to keep or let it go
Never lose touch or get stuck in how "it used to be"
Though lately it seems to stretch my ability

Chasing passion and fantasies
Can't let this world get the best of me
So I'm turning around this bad situation
