My life has been full of two steps forward

Life throwin reminders of the past like a portal
The more I write it down Im Afraid of feeling normal
I want break generational trauma
Still havent seen the changes from my mama
But I had to say no more to the drama
Im Hopin my enemies get all the karma
Hanging up new fixtures
These shadows will hit ya
Don't trust shape shifters
Take a soul into a mixer
The past don't have ta
Define your rapture
So climb the ladder
And find what matters
The past can leave you so Scatter brained
That's why you live now work out and maintain
Thinkin to much on the future can do the same
But you can brush paint whatever in that frame
I know its hard
Constant reminders and disregard
But I applaud
Those against the odds

I got a dark past but it does not define me
In my mind are old video tapes Rewind these
If I didn't have the ups and downs to Remind me
To live life inside the present time see
I grew up to quick
With thoughts to sick
I could be evil and pissed
But I kept focused
This experience gave me different outlook
A sharp mind and heart than I put it in a book
I don't ever want no one to feel that way
Two broken parents made for dark days
Mental and physical abuse is not okay
But I cant change all the stones that were laid
You will see shadows and reminders to haunt you
These demons open up doors that are behind you
They hoping to push you back inside and lock you
Keep your goals and passions alive inside you
