Żyło raz przyjaciół dwóch, jeden mieli smak i słuch

Razem naciskali spust, razem brali chleb do ust,
I do domów list pisali w jednej chwili...
Walczyć wspólnie było raźniej, gdy wokoło krwawe łaźnie,
A po łaźniach raźniej, kiedy razem pili!

W tym ich mały dramat tkwił - Jeden pił i drugi pił,
Lali w gardła co popadło, równocześnie.
Lecz choć razem zakąszali, w jednej chwili przechylali

Któryś z nich zobaczył raz słup, na który zaraz wlazł.
Milczą dzieje, czy był trzeźwy, czy pijany...
Wtem krzyk straszny przyjaciela - Złaź, zobaczą i zestrzelą Cię -
I po co? Na dół złaź! Na Boskie rany!

Czemu zaraz mam być, trup? To jest bardzo dobry słup,
Żeby móc poszerzyć sobie horyzonty...
Patrzę w górę i na boki i nie kiepskie mam widoki,
A poza tym sięgam wzrokiem ponad fronty!

Ale ja o ciebie drżę! Złaź tu do mnie, błagam cię!
Krzyczy druh i odbezpiecza broń w rozpaczy.
Dla twojego dobra przecież towarzyszę ci po świecie,
Dla mnie przyjaźń zawsze przyjaźń będzie znaczyć
