We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
The crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling blew away
As we called out for another drink
The waiter bought a tray
And so we waltzed
We lingered
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Had turned a whiter shade of pale
She said there is no reason
And truth is plain to see
That I stumbled through my clean heart
I would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for home
And although my eyes were open wide
They might just as well be closed
And so we waltzed
We lingered
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Had turned a whiter shade of pale
