今日も朝から蒸し暑く寝汗をかいている
窓に張りついた蝉が鳴く命もからがらに

真っ黒な蟻は考える冬に備えなくちゃ
きっかけなんてきっと些細な事胸がざわついてくる

彼女の姿も見えないしここには影もない

Cicada

My love, as the morning sun beats down upon us, making us both perspire,
the cicada clings to the windowpane, singing its heart out as if its life depended on it.
You have once again vanished from my sight, but I cannot bring myself to be concerned.
All I desire is a cool drink, but even that seems beyond my grasp.

The clock's battery has died, forever displaying the time from last night.
My last cigarette has been smoked, and I must venture out to purchase more.
The heat outside must be unbearable, yet the cicada continues to sing.
Though I cannot see you, I must don my hat before I leave.

Indeed, the heat outside is oppressive, and the sweat pours from my face.
The ants scurry about, preparing for the coming winter.
A small incident is all that it will take, my love, and my heart will begin to race.
The sun's rays burn down upon me, intent on melting me away.

The sun hangs high in the sky, and my shadow melts into nothingness.
I cannot see you, and my own shadow has disappeared.
