Текст песни Tulelake - KITARO

While many Japanese-Americans proved their loyalty to the U.S
By volunteering into the 442nd regimental combat team to fight for their country
Some Japanese-Americans challenged the draft
Due to their attornment and loss of constitutional rights
In February, 1943, branded as "enemy aliens",
Japanese-Americans were forced into attornment camps
And yet asked to swear their loyalty to the U.S
By the loyalty questioner
This caused great conflict within the Japanese-American community
Those who answered "no" to the loyalty questions
Were considered disloyal and sent to the segregated Tulelake attornment camp
Oh, Tulelake, bad guy, uh
It was just- right off the bat- it just named it as a bad guy-
Regardless, it- even people that was never in the camp
Oh, Tulelake, bad guys- bunch of bad buys
You see, the draft was just... more so
So I'd looked upon them at college
"They're not cowards"
It took a lot of strength, a lot of courage to do what they did
To go through prison sentence-
And that's not easy
Physical courage is easy
Is more the spiritual courage that's difficult
We did what we thought was right, with courage
They did what they thought was right, with courage
And that's the American way
