Harcolni kell a boldogabb jövőért,
Csak gyáva sajnálja most az életét!
Harcolni kell a zöldellő mezőkért,
S harcunk után szabad lesz majd a nép!
Hős nemzetünk, mi most megesküszünk:
Nem hamvad el a lángoló tüzünk!
Nincs nappalunk, sem éjszakánk,
Míg rabszolgák vagyunk,
Csak érted élünk szép hazánk,
S, ha kell hát meghalunk!
Bajban, veszélyben, senki se féljen,
Míg van a földön egy magyar ember,
Századok óta, hirdetik róla,
Senki kikezdeni vele nem mer!
Minket az Isten harcra teremtett,
Óvni a földet a drága hazát,
Csendesen élni volna a legszebb,
Ám de mi küzdünk egy életen át!

We need to fight for a better future,
Only a coward would give up their life now!
We need to fight for our verdant fields,
And after our struggle, the people will be free!
We, the heroes of our nation, swear now:
The flame of our fire will never be extinguished!
We have no day or night,
For so long as we are enslaved,
We live only for you, our beautiful homeland,
And if need be, we shall die for you!
In hardship and in danger, let no one fear,
For as long as there is one Hungarian on this earth,
For centuries it has been proclaimed,
No one dares to lay a hand on him!
We were created by God to fight,
To protect our land, our precious homeland,
The best life would be to live in peace,
But we will fight on for a lifetime!
