Dream of a Paper Star

In a warm and transparent glass bottle,
A star I was called and kept by my mother,
Brighter than any star in the world,
My mother would gaze upon me with affection.

One day, amongst the stars in the night sky,
Will I, too, shine brightly?
With a question like this from my young self,
My mother would apologetically nod—this I cannot forget.

A small paper star trapped within a bottle,
