Текст песни This Old Heart - Commentary - Midland
I
know
a
lot
of
people
are
excited
for
Midland's
debut
album,
it
is
Out
now,
it's
called
On
the
Rocks,
and
we're
gettin'
to
go
through
Every
song
on
the
album
with
the
guys,
and
I
know
you
guys
had
a
Hand
in
writing
every
song
on
this
album,
in
fact,
you
all,
all
Three,
wrote
every
single
song
on
the
album
except
for
"Check
Cash,
and
Country,"
which
Jess
wrote,
and
then
this
next
one,
"This
Old
Heart,"
Cameron
were
you
just
off
doing
something
else
that
day?
My
dog
died,
Stewie
Oh
gosh
RIP
Stewie
I
didn't,
I
wasn't
there
for
that.
But
you
know
what,
I,
I,
uh
Stand
by,
and
I
won't
talk
too
much
on
this
'cause
I
didn't
Write
it,
but
I
do
believe
in
the,
I
believe
that
obviously
Certain
things
happen
for
a
reason,
and
had
I
been
involved
in
That
write,
the
song
wouldn't
have
came
out
like
that,
you
know
And
I
believe
that
song
is,
uh,
it's
one
of
my
favorite
songs
of
The
album,
it's
a
near-perfect
song,
I'm
glad
I
wasn't
around
To
steer
it
in
any
other
direction
than
the
way
that
it
came
out
Wow
Yeah,
we
wrote
that
with
Jonathan
Singleton
and
David
Lee
Murphy
We're
huge
fans
of
David
Lee
Murphy,
we
forced
him
against
His
will
to
play
"Dust
on
the
Bottle"
for
us
on
acoustic
guitar
And
that
song
for
some
reason
always
reminds
me
of,
of
"Dust
On
the
Bottle"
a
little
bit.
It's
just
a
good
barroom
romper
It's
really
fun
to
play
live,
it's,
it's
a
staple
in
our
live
Set,
something
I
always
look
forward
to
when
I
see
it
coming
Up
on
the
set
list,
um,
we,
we
can
really
rock
that
one
out
Might
be
a
little
autobiographical
for
my
life,
it
feels
like
Some,
sometimes,
when
that
song
comes
up.
I
always
enjoyed
Singing
it,
and
I
think
it's
a
really
cool,
uh,
vocal
Showcase
for
us,
I
love,
I
love
the
harmonies
on
that
song
Well,
I
was
gonna
ask
if
there
is
one
line
in
there
that
I
just
Wondered
if
it
was,
uh,
autobiographical
at
all,
uh,
"world
class
Bender
that
coulda
put
you
in
Folsom,"
any
of
you
been
that
close?
Uh,
yeah,
like
two
or
three
times
this
week
Uh,
yeah
Yeah,
no,
I
mean
seriously,
I
mean,
you
know,
the
three
of
Us
are,
again,
I'm
not
sitting
here
making,
like,
claims
Like
"we're
the
craziest,"
you
know,
but
we've
all
been
Hellman,
and
we're
all
like
descendants
of
kind
of
Hellman
And,
uh,
we
have,
we
have
cut
some
rugs,
we
have
shut
some
Places
down,
we've
been
kicked
out
of,
of
many,
many
of
them
We're
the
rug
cutters
Our
blood
boils
In
and
around
jail
We're
good
people,
good
moral
people
But
we
will
get
a
little
bit
wild
I
can
vouch
for
that,
and,
uh,
when
you
do
decide
to
get
wild
Look
out.
And
here's
another
song
off
of
Midland's
debut
Album,
this
is
called
"This
Old
Heart"
on
Big
Machine
