Текст песни Conquistador - BBC Radio One in Concert 1974 - Procol Harum
Alright,
welcome
to
this
week's
concert
program,
as
always
From
the
Hip
germ
Golders
Green
My
name's
Bob
Harris,
and
for
the
next
60
minutes
There'll
be
music
from
a
band,
really,
who've
been
one
of
my
favourite
bands
For
almost
as
long
as
I
can
remember
Let's
have
a
really
warm
welcome
for
Procol
Harum
Conquistador,
your
stallion
stands
in
need
of
company
And
like
some
angel's
hallowed
brow,
you
reek
of
purity
I
see
your
armour-plated
breast
has
long
since
lost
its
sheen
And
in
your
death
mask
face
there
are
no
signs
which
can
be
seen
Though
I
hoped
for
something
to
find
I
could
see
no
maze
to
unwind
Conquistador,
a
vulture
sits
upon
your
silver
shield
And
in
your
rusty
scabbard
now
the
sand
has
taken
seed
I
know
your
jewel-encrusted
blade
has
not
been
plundered
still
Sea
has
washed
across
your
face
And
taken
of
its
fill
And
though
I
hoped
for
something
to
find
I
could
see
no
maze
to
unwind
And
though
I
hoped
for
something
to
find
I
could
see
no
maze
to
unwind
Conquistador,
there
is
no
time
I
must
pay
my
respects
And
though
I
came
to
jeer
at
you,
I
leave
now
with
regrets
And
as
the
gloom
begins
to
fall
I
see
there
is
no,
only
all
I
know
you
came
with
sword
held
high
You
did
not
conquer,
only
die
Though
I
hoped
for
something
to
find
I
could
see
no
maze
to
unwind
And
though
I
hoped
for
something
to
find
I
could
see
no
maze
to
unwind
Hey
Yeah
And
though
I
hoped
for
something
to
find
I
could
see
no
maze
to
unwind
Uh,
that's
great,
that's
an
old
favourite
to
start
us
off
Procol
Harum,
and
that
was
called,
"Conquistador"
And
really
the
band
have
come
in
to
play
this
there
tonight
at
the
ideal
time
There's
a
new
album
which
is
completed
now
And
there'll
be
music
from
that
a
little
bit
later
on
in
the
program
But
let
me
introduce
you
individually
to
the
members
of
the
band
On
the
far
side
of
stage
from
me,
on
the
grand
piano
there,
that's
Gary
Brooker
The
gentleman
standing
up
behind
on
the
Hammond
organ
is
Chris
Copping
The
guitarist
with
the
band
is
Mick
Grabham
And
of
course
before
Procol
Harum,
was
a
part
of
a
band
That
I
used
to
enjoy
very
much,
called,
"Cachise"
Who
you
could
well
remember
Anyway,
the
bass
player
is
Alan
Carr
And
finally,
the
band's
fine
drummer,
B.J.
Wilson
And
of
course,
the
other
gentleman
who's
very
important,
who's
here
tonight
And
who
definitely
deserves
a
round
of
applause,
the
lyricist,
Keith
Reid
Alright,
okay,
after
this
coming
number,
I'm
going
to
leave
Gary
To
introduce
a
couple
of
the,
the
new
things
from
the
new
album
for
you
But
meanwhile,
