Gleich vor uns'rer Tür
Und wenn wir ein Kind lächeln seh'n

Der Himmel hat sich abgewandt
Die Zuversicht versiegt
Manchmal ist's, als ob alle Last auf meinen Schultern liegt

Memories are fading
And the day's glory passes away
The traces we draw today
Will be blown away tomorrow
But within us is the longing
That something of ourselves may remain
A footprint on the shore
Before the stream carries us away

Just a graffiti standing out from the grey wall
Like a cry that wants to say
Look, I have lived!
So I take what courage remains in me
