Und dann stell' ich mir im Radio meine Lieblingssendung ein

U 4 und U 6: verbreitet Zähflüssigkeit. Ab sofort
Staut es sich vor der B 80, denn im weiteren Verlauf
Der U 25 macht sich jetzt eine Kolonne auf

Der Transport mit Überbreite auf der Autobahn A 10
Auf der falschen Fahrbahnseite, kommt nur nach und nach zum Steh'n
Auf der A 3 weiden Ziegen, die B 9 ist voll gesperrt
Der Verkehr kommt zum Erliegen. – Es folgt ein Klavierkonzert!

Weil ich morgens gern lang' schlafe und nur schwer aufstehen kann

Traffic Report

When it's pouring or hailing, or even when it snows,
For me, there's nothing as cozy as staying in my home.
I'll get the softest armchair and open the finest wine,
Then I'll tune my radio to my favorite show.

The A 12 is being diverted via the north junction.
U 4 and U 6: congestion, as of now.
Traffic is backing up before the B 80,
And on the U 25, a line is forming.

An oversized load on the A 10 Autobahn,
On the wrong side of the road, gradually coming to a halt.
There are goats grazing on the A 3, and the B 9 is completely closed.
Traffic is at a standstill. – And now, a piano concert!

Since I like to sleep in and have trouble waking up,
Whenever I go out, I always manage to arrive late.
And when someone asks, with an accusatory tone, "Where were you?"
I politely smile and repeat the traffic report.

I've sold my car – why should I drive myself?
When I can get my thrills and excitement for much less,
I simply turn on my transistor radio and go for a drive!
