Le Moulin de Springfield

Un océan sans eau, un hiver sans neige,
Un jour d'été sans endroit où aller.
Rien ne se profile, juste une faible lueur.
Plus loin, ma douce rivière natale, la seule que je connaisse.
Des arbres pour l'ombre côté nord, de l'herbe verte sur la colline.

Vivre en ville, sans vraiment connaître personne, vraiment seul.
La vie nocturne m'emportait, je ne pouvais pas rester, je devais rentrer à la maison.

Les enfants sont dans le pré. Le linge sèche sur la corde.
Ma femme est dans la cuisine, elle dit : "C'est bientôt l'heure du dîner."
Ça a été bien agréable de bavarder, reviens t'asseoir un moment.
Mais ne me demande plus jamais de quitter ma maison.
Je crois que je préférerais aller en Enfer !
