The grey rememberer is standing tall
Trumpeting out of its trunk
Matched only by a chihuahua
Barking at the top of its lungs

It seems like clear skies
But dark storm clouds loom
When even mice can't scare
This elephant out of the room

Cursing profoundly at the lawn
Cupping your coffee in a yawn
The worn out seat when you are gone
A constant reminder of
A life that's lived well
Underneath the same old story
And your buck teeth
I'll drag your chair under the chestnut tree
And pour myself a glass of red wine
