Speedy Justice - Little Country Store текст песни

Текст песни Little Country Store - Speedy Justice

With the old country store, prices stood a bit higher
But nothing like the Supermart today
Maybe hostess ho-ho's weren't as fresh as daisies, but they taste just as good anyway
Well the old country store, that single gas pump's always waitin
Good old boys debatin' about nothin' didn't matter
And the grass always lay a little high
With the old country store
And the country kids would walk barefoot least a country mile
For Pepsi, Snickers, Snow Cone, and all the latest mercantile
They'd get their hopes up for the hot rods and the hot high school seniors comin' around hometown
And it was always like a movie, even way back then
When the film had little black specks and jumped frame now and then
When the air was still as popcorn and you'd forget the startin' titles
But remember every single sound and picture
Forever
Yeah, remember Martha Shifflet coaxed to sing around Christmas Day
She sounded like some angel you could kiss and maybe lead astray
And the stupid little Crawford boy who never understood
No way, you fit right in there though, every single day
A place to play
With a little country store you never had to hurry by
Everyone was glad to see you
Pillsbury apple pie, it's a damn shame about the fire
And no one ever did say why it disappeared
But the paint's still there peeling
All the windows all blown out with that little country store
Couple cars didn't make it lying around
Hey, it's still commercial property, but the lot just stays the way it was
It helps us all remember
These changes burn the past right down
Right down
